The Riverpark
A private residential flat at The Riverpark in Fo Tan. Light timber and off-white lead throughout, and the living room is built up as a platform with steps, giving the window over to a place to sit and lie down; the bedroom likewise has a platform bed with concealed lighting, and all the storage is taken into the walls.
The platform rises to the window in two steps, each wrapped in the same timber finish; an off-white sofa faces the full-height glazing, drawing in the distant hills and the city view.
The TV wall is made up of squares staggered at different heights, alternating between timber tone and grey; full-height glazing is on the left, with trees and distant hills as the backdrop.
The storage wall is built from floor to ceiling, its wood frame holding grey door panels and open shelving between; a geometric picture leans on the counter, and the corridor on the right leads to the other rooms.
The bed is built as a timber platform, with a light strip concealed at the bed edge and another under the step; on the right, full-height wardrobes are faced with fluted doors, and the floor-to-ceiling glazing leads straight out to the balcony.
The upper cabinets use white door fronts and the lower ones a wood grain, divided by a single metal handle line; every corner is finished with a radius to keep hard edges off the cabinetry.
The white cabinets turn on a curve and meet a timber-effect counter and drawers; the open shelf above has concealed lighting and a pale glass back, so the light spreads out from inside.
The wall cabinets are glazed, so the books inside can be read at a glance; the shelf below has a pale green back panel set apart from the light wood top, which keeps the palette from going flat.
The same marble-effect tile covers wall and floor, its horizontal figuring carried into the shower; a clear glass screen divides wet from dry, and the mirror and the niche each hold a concealed light strip.
