Prince Ritz
A private residential flat at Prince Ritz, in Kowloon City, Kowloon. In the bedroom a wave-shaped platform links bed, desk and storage into one piece, with a light strip concealed along the edge, and the ceiling follows the same curve as a coved light trough; an arched niche closes the view at the end of the corridor.
The blue sofa is the centre of the living room, and the ceiling is finished with a curve that softens the corner; the dining room is directly in view, and the two areas share the same daylight.
A white grid of shelving is recessed into the wall, the squares set at different depths; ornaments and books sit among them, and the wall becomes a display.
Curved timber panelling wraps the bedhead, with a shelf above for books; a stool and dressing table line up together, so the sleeping area doubles as a work area.
The platform is finished with a curved edge and the bed follows the line up; a stone-textured wall with curtains balances cool against warm.
A curved wall softens the entrance to the bathroom, kept purely white; a narrow ledge extends from it, giving everyday items somewhere to sit.
