Centrestage

Centrestage is a private residential home in Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island. Cream moulded cabinet doors, pink walls and a herringbone floor run throughout, taking a French romantic direction; the television wall is trimmed in marble-effect panelling with matching tall units on either side, and the lighting is copper wall lights and small pendants.

Moulded cabinets with herringbone floor

Cream moulded cabinetry sits on a herringbone floor, with recessed wall lights and pendants lifting the layers; a pink wall turns the corner, adding a little softness to the classical look.

Entrance

A ring pendant hangs amid the soft white, and a tall cabinet with glazed panel doors turns storage into display; the carcass is edged with moulding, in keeping with the language of the rest of the flat.

Living room

Arched openings in the cabinetry echo the panelled detailing, the curves easing the bulk of the unit; timber shelves take in the small things of daily life, and the pictures and ornaments can be changed at any time.

Kitchen

White moulded doors run the full length of the units and keep appliances and clutter alike out of sight, while a brass wall light adds a note of warmth to the white kitchen; the herringbone floor carries through from the living room.

Master bedroom

A dusty pink wall sits behind a moulded, upholstered headboard, and the herringbone floor sets an unhurried French rhythm; a low cabinet is kept by the window, where the daylight falls just right on the timber floor.
